Today the challenge is five foods.
Well, that’s difficult because there isn’t much food I dislike.
And if I start talking about my memories of foods, it would take so long, I could well die in this chair before I finished.
So I asked myself, if I were left with only five foods in the world to live on,
what five foods would I choose?
These are my five:
salmon
This means sockeye salmon, it’s my favorite. I will not turn my nose up at steelhead or pink but given only one, it would be red sockeye salmon. Baked, fried, barbecued, over pasta, in sandwiches, smoked or over the campfire, love this stuff.
oatmeal
Unadorned is just fine. Even cold. Nice with milk, not cream and a few raisins or apples chopped in but I’m good with plain old bare-naked oatmeal, too. Breakfast, lunch or dinner of championesses, lol




Yummy, I don’t know if I could limit it to five but I love raspberries, spinach, Yams the orange real yams like you said, I’m going back to being a vegetarian again but if I wasn’t it would be halibut or real Alaskan Salmon, Oatmeal or chick peas and that leaves one more eggplant or artichoke or maybe tomato…. Oh no I guess I just couldn’t limit it to five but …. let’s have dinner. :0) Yotaki Beautywalk
Dinner sounds lovely, I think we’d bring such similar foods to the table though, we may need to confer ahead of time to ensure we have some variety, LOL LOL Thanks for the visit, Yotaki, hope the writing is going well
chocolate, cheese/milk, beef, sweet potato, apples. not the healthiest list, but these are the things I miss when I can’t have them.
Mmmmm chocolate, now you’ve done it, I may have to revise my list. Oh. And apples. Oh dear. Now I’m confused, LOL. Thanks so much for sharing your five foods, I know what you mean about missing things when we can’t have them… going out for chocolate now…LOL
I don’t believe I could only pick 5 but I know that one of them would have to be pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms, lol!! Good job on the ability to whittle it down, I’m impressed! Blessings, Terri
Well, Terri, you are nearly there! Pizza is bread, cheese and pepperoni is meat. Now, add the tomato or other veggie based sauce and there’s your vegetable. One more and you are at five already, how about chocolate, lol? Thanks for the visit, love your avatar photo

My list is not so healhy, either. Beef, popcorn, cheese, eggs, potatoes in any form. I don’t have any vegetables on my favorite list…but I will eat them. Wait. Chocolate! See? I can’t do five, either! Hahaha…
LOL Yes, it’s difficult to do a list of only five… if you start thinking too much, lol. One man I know says bread is all he needs, I couldn’t do just one thing unless that’s all there was.
So healthy and colorful (well, not the oatmeal so much).
Watermelon, brown rice, mangoes, carrots, tofu. I probably wouldn’t live long anyway…

Oh dear. I don’t think I could choose just five. I do know they would be CONSIDERABLY less healthy than your choices. For example, I would have to include Bacon. I’m a southerner. We put bacon in everything.
Understanding that is not difficult if I think of being camping. There is nothing finer than the aroma of bacon cooking in the campground over the fire. Makes me hungry to think of it. No wonder you are southerner. I mean, no wonder you like bacon so. I made a dish of red rice and beans a few years ago that called for some bacon, it was good but I think I need a spicier recipe. Do you know of any?
