Now, this is interesting. Try marsh mellows.
Oh dear, Tots. I do so hate marshmallows. But I only have to write about them, right? lol I mean write? lol Here goes. Just finished and my apologies that it’s not a full-blown story but rather a poem and haiku. I don’t know why, it’s just what blew out of me, Tots. Hope you like
Thanks again for your ingredients

Fun Challenge POEM #5
Happen we run with nary a care
No scavengers uncover the paths we dare
Summers breath down our backs, our vision shone warm
Through farm and field, twixt grain o’er loam
Chasing swallowtail rainbows and dragonfly wishes
Reality soon enough supper dishes
When there amid bulrushes higher than us
We spy a wee nest at the near-edge of dusk
Twigs crowned by great marshmallow eggs of white
No discovery more memorable childhood delight
Don’t touch, musn’t touch, the mother will disown
Leave now quick, before we are known
Memories of the unborn, finding home before dark
Cradled thoughts ignite a faint golden spark
Of summer gravel roads tramped by curious girls and fellows
Even birds fall silent in twilight marsh mellows

Haiku Challenge #5
marshmallows, marsh mellows, stilling all
when day creatures settle nocturnals slip silent
into the ripening of night

For real? Or???????
Great writing! I don’t have a clue about haikus and how you manage writing them.
The poem had good cadence and smooth flow. If I’d known you weren’t a marshmallow fan, I would’ve added horror as an ingredient.
It’s okay, Tots, really, lol. The marshmallows were horrifying enough, LOL Glad you enjoyed and as for haikus, just started fooling around with them in March of this year. Still learning a ton about those and other writing. One site where you can learn more is kvennarad (on my blog roll). Learning much as I go from her natural ability to write vast works in as few words as possible. It’s challenging, fun and oh my brain hurts but it’s all good lol See your pages soon!
