strong wheels traversing ahead turn
through spreading arms of trees ever rooted
into the future we wend

’tis but a saiku honnet
woven with intent to please and appease
haikus sonnets words of degrees

But I know you already you said, you see
I know you so well you need not to know me
Then what do we do with this time we have left
Do we spend it alone, despondent, bereft
Or do we into that knowingness, flee?
A question for your penny, a shilling unwise
Too close to a sliver in one of our eyes
As humans let us be and let us be true
Let me be me as I let you be you
At last then winners both, we each hold prize.

I know not what you ask of my love
Only that I know how to
Answer.
